Rainforest Cruises Launches New River Cruise Deep into the Amazon
Boutique Amazon specialist Rainforest Cruises has launched a new river cruise to the Central Amazon Conservation Complex in Brazil, the largest protected area of tropical rainforest in the world.
Rainforest Cruise’s seven-day ‘Voyage to the Heart of the Amazon’ cruise navigates upstream on the Rio Negro, further into the Brazilian forest than nearly any other vessel, to observe plants and animals deep in the forest.
Cruises takes place aboard the nine cabin Motor Yacht Tucano, styled as a classic river steamship, and feature daily rainforest walks with skilled guides and frequent excursions by launch and kayak to explore the small streams branching off the Amazon.
The Central Amazon Conservation Complex, one of only two UNESCO World Heritage Sites in all of Amazonia, is a constantly evolving mosaic of river channels, lakes and floating mats of vegetation, home to an array of species that you cannot find anywhere else on Earth, including giant arapaima fish, the Amazonian manatee, the black caiman, and two species of river dolphin.
Voyages depart Manaus and start from £2,129 per person for seven days, based on two people sharing. Meals, guides, excursions and use of kayaks is included in the price.
