Trafalgar Returns to China’s Yangtze River in New Partnership with Victoria Cruises
Leading tour operator Trafalgar has contracted Victoria Cruises as its exclusive partner for Yangtze River cruises. The globally-awarded company is enhancing its popular “Classic China” itinerary with a luxury river sailing up the mist-shrouded Yangtze on the five-star Victoria Selina along with three nights in Chengdu to observe China’s national symbol, the giant panda.
The company will offer seven departures for the expanded 17-day program through Oct. 13, 2017 with 15 additional departures planned for 2018.
“As our guests’ satisfaction is our highest priority, we ultimately returned to Victoria Cruises as the service and culinary offerings of the Yangtze’s only American-managed line is best suited for our discerning Western clients,” noted Norma Yang, BCTS (China) Operation Manager for Trafalgar.
“We enthusiastically recommend Trafalgar for passengers interested in combining our sailings with some of China’s most celebrated national treasures and are proud to be selected as their e xclusive Yangtze cruise partner for 2017 and 2018,” said Larry Greenman, manager of public relations and customer service for Victoria Cruises.
Trafalgar’s “Classic China with Yangtze Cruise and Chengdu” program utilizes the five-star Victoria Selina, an elegant 218-passenger vessel which received a complete interior redesign during its last renovation in 2011.
Along the Yangtze River, passengers will capture stunning views of the legendary Three Gorges from the vantage point of their own private balcony. Excursions may include a guided tour of the Three Gorges Dam, a visit to Shibaozhai and a scenic voyage along one of the Yangtze’s tranquil tributaries via traditional Chinese sampan (excursions may be substituted based on river conditions and scheduling factors).
Guests will also experience China’s engineering might with the introduction of the world’s largest ship elevator in Victoria Cruises’ 2017 programs.
The onboard experience features informative lectures, nightly entertainment and a world-class dining program designed by Emmy© Award-winning celebrity chef Walter Staib. Victoria Cruises is the only American-managed cruise line on the Yangtze River with a culinary program designed for the Western palate.
In addition to sailing the Yangtze River with Victoria Cruises, travelers will experience the old world charm of China’s past in Beijing and the Tang Dynasty capital of Xi’an along with the modernity of Shanghai and spicy Sichuan culinary style of Chengdu. As a special treat, vacationers will spend a full morning at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, a non-profit facility for giant pandas and other rare animals.
Trafalgar has cherry-picked the accommodations used for the 17-day program in order to provide a world-class experience from start to finish.
