Family from Hesse will christen AIDA Cruises’ AIDAnova at the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg
For the first time in the history of the cruise company AIDA Cruises, a whole family will christen the newest ship AIDAnova. Family Mirza from Hanau in Hesse was selected from hundreds of applicants by a jury.
On August 31, 2018 Sonja (31) and Asad (33) Mirza with their children Sophia (2) and Adrian (3) will christen the newest ship of the AIDA fleet. 25,000 spectators are expected at the dazzling event at the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg. The AIDA Open Air with a spectacular christening show and a live concert by star DJ David Guetta is one of the biggest events in northern Germany. And what is more: Sonja and Asad will celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary on the day of the christening.
“It is an indescribably great honor for us to christen AIDAnova. We still can not believe we are the winners of the Christening Family Contest. The christening of AIDAnova will be an unforgettable event for our whole family,” says mother Sonja.
AIDAnova is a real paradise for families. While the kids can clamber around the tree-tops in the ropes course and race around on the giant water slides over three decks, their parents can enjoy the laid-back feel of the Caribbean, relaxing beneath palm trees in the Beach Club next door. There’s also plenty of fun to be had at the water playground and the large mini-golf course.
The whole family can enjoy a meal together at the Fuego family restaurant which offers a kids’ buffet and a baby bistro. Landside, AIDA offers family-friends excursions and even excursions specifically for teenagers. In terms of accommodation, the Deluxe Veranda staterooms, available for the first time, ensure that families have plenty of space.
