Bermello Ajamil Announces New Director of Engineering for Ports and Maritime Division
Bermello Ajamil & Partners (BA) is pleased to announce a new Director of Engineering for its Ports and Maritime Division that will be based in the firm’s New York Office.
Daniel Ramos, PE, assumed his role in September and has more than 10 years of experience as a waterfront structural engineer.
Ramos has been responsible for all phases of analysis and design from concept development to the delivery of detailed construction documents. His past designs encompass a broad range of marine structures including piers, wharves, ferry terminals, marinas, marine oil terminals, flood barrier structures, diversion structures, bulkheads and dolphin structures.
Prior to joining BA, Ramos designed and managed many high-profile marine structure projects. Notable projects include: Tompkinsville Esplanade and Pier, Battery Wharf Rehabilitation, Manhattan Cruise Terminals Piers 88 and 90 Substructure Rehabilitation – Phase III, Holland Tunnel Demolition and Reconstruction of Piers 9/204 – all in New York and New Jersey – as well as the United States Navy Pier 12 Replacement and Pier 13 Upgrade in San Diego, CA and the USACE Inner Harbor Navigation Canal Surge Barrier in New Orleans, LA.

Ramos obtained his Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering from the Technical University of Madrid and his Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering from California Polytechnic State University. He is licensed as a Professional Engineer in the States of California and New York, as well as an Earthquake Safety Assessment Program Evaluator.
