Vaccination at the heart of the Ponant ‘Covid-safe’ protocol

Ponant (Logo)Onboard and ashore, the safety of its guests has been paramount for PONANT who since the start of the health crisis has applied a rigorous ‘Covid-safe’ protocol. PONANT is now taking its already robust protocol to a new level by introducing vaccination for guests and crew members.

Vaccination and double protection principle

Vaccination is one of the flagship measures of PONANT’s latest protocol, requiring the persons over 16 years old on board, be they guests or members of the crew*, to be vaccinated before every cruise. They will also have to show proof of a negative PCR test carried out within 72 hours of boarding one of the company’s ships.

The new measures are being introduced into a ‘Covid-safe’ zone on board PONANT ships, in effect a sealed health bubble based on the double protection principle. Screening and decontamination measures when boarding, which ensure those on board do not have the virus, are backed up by health protocols and barrier measures in force throughout the cruise.

Ultra Serenity policy: exceptionally flexible booking conditions

PONANT has introduced an Ultra Serenity policy with the most comprehensive and appropriate conditions. For any new booking until 30 June 2021, for a departure scheduled until 31 March 2023, clients pay a deposit of just 25% and settle the balance 30 days before departure. They also have the option of cancelling the trip up to 30 days before departure, free of charge for whatever reason, with the full amount being credited towards another reservation within 24 months of the initial departure date.

Optimal protection is provided by the Covid-included guarantee. In the event of a positive Covid test within 30 days before sailing, clients can postpone or cancel the cruise without charge, and will receive a full refund of the amount they have paid at the time of cancellation. This also applies if the cruise cannot be operated.

*For crews: the goal is 100%, subject to restrictions in force in their country of residence. If not, a negative PCR test, then ten days in quarantine, then another negative PCR test. Apart cruises from Australia and New Zealand.
