Lerwick Visit By MS Island Sky Reopens Cruising In Scotland
Following the Scottish Government’s lifting of the Covid-related ban on cruise ships visiting Scottish ports from today (Monday 19 July 2021), the first vessel since early 2020 arrived in Lerwick Harbour, Shetland, this morning.
Operated by Noble Caledonia, the small MS Island Sky berthed at Lerwick’s Victoria Pier with 66 passengers on board, half the capacity of the vessel, which is on a full circumnavigation of the UK.
Scottish ports have reopened for cruise ships on UK-only sailings, carrying UK passengers.
Covid measures are in place to protect everyone involved during visits, complementing the comprehensive steps taken by cruise operators.
