Cruise Gate Hamburg officialises 2022 Cruise List and Maritime Event Highlights for the Season. A record number of more than 300 ship calls scheduled

Cruise Gate Hamburg (Logo)Cruise Gate Hamburg (CGH) is gearing up for a very busy cruise season with a record number of more than 300 ship calls scheduled for 2022 and several maritime event highlights in store for cruise fans.

The official cruise list, published on the CGH website (, includes a total of seven cruise ships calling at the Hanseatic City for the first time (AIDAcosma, Bolette, Ambience, Sea Cloud Spirit, Spirit of Discovery, World Navigator, Norwegian Star).

„With Ambassador Cruise Line and its flagship “Ambience” calling Hamburg on her maiden season this Friday, April 22, 2022, we are delighted to welcome not only a new ship to our port, but also a new cruise line to Hamburg,” comments Simone Maraschi, Managing Director of CGH, on the next inaugural call.

Cruise Gate Hamburg is busy all year around with cruise vessels calling at Hamburg during the winter season, too. “Arcadia” by P&O Cruises will end this year ́s season on New Year ́s Eve. A steadily growing market in the Port of Hamburg is river cruising – with around 50 river cruise ship calls in 2022.

Event Highlights in the Cruise Season 2022

The spectacular christening of “AIDAcosma” in Hamburg, the second ship in the AIDA fleet powered by LNG, on April 9, 2022, was certainly a highlight, but it just marked the start for further events in the Port of Hamburg ́s maritime calendar to look forward to in the 2022 cruise season. After a two year pause due to the pandemic, the Hamburg Cruise Days will return in summer, with a total of five ships calling over the weekend from August 19 through 21.

One month later, from September 16 through 18, the Hamburg Port Anniversary, the biggest celebration of a port anniversary worldwide, is scheduled to take place, after it had been postponed for two years in a row, too.

Cruise Gate Hamburg attends Seatrade Cruise Global, Miami (USA)

Another important cruise event is just around the corner with Seatrade Cruise Global taking place from 25 to 28, April, in Miami (USA). Simone Maraschi is pleased to be able to attend the cruise industry ́s leading annual B2B event in person again this year: “We are excited and look forward to all the live meetings again with cruise friends from all over the world and numerous international partners.”

Promoting Hamburg ́s commitment to make cruising in the port climate-neutral by 2030
will surely be part of the conversations and networking sessions. Cruise Gate Hamburg will be represented at Booth 1223 in the Destination Hall at Miami Beach Convention Center.
