Two cruise ships, MV Arius (SuperStar Aquarius) and MV Gem (SuperStar Gemini), with a passenger capacity of 800 each have been berthed for a month-long layup in the China-backed Hambantota International Port (HIP).

Ships are laid up when they are taken off profitable service.
