AIDAnova: First engine room module on Neptune shipyard finished

AIDANovaToday, Thursday, September 21, 2017, an AIDAnova module has been released into the water for the first time at the Neptun shipyard in Rostock, which belongs to the Meyer Group. This is the first of two floating parts, so-called Floating Engine Room Units (FERU), which was placed onto the Warnow river with a special lowering device.

AIDAnova: Lots of new highlights from bow to stern

AIDANovaThe new AIDA generation will be taking to the seas in December 2018 in the shape of AIDAnova. The world’s first LNG-powered cruise ship, AIDAnova will be spending her maiden season in winter 2018/19 in the Canary Islands. On December 2, 2018, the new ship will visit the Hanseatic City on the Elbe.

Three awards for AIDA

The AIDAPrima at Hamburg  (Courtesy AIDA Cruises)On September 5, 2017, AIDA Cruises received the “German Cruise Line Award” three times at Seatrade Europe in Hamburg, the leading exhibition for the cruise industry. AIDA won in the categories Environmental Commitment and Favorite Ship. The award presented by the port association Atlantic Alliance also went to AIDA Cruises for its year-round operation of AIDAprima in the Atlantic west-coast region.

Hamburg Cruise Days 2017: AIDAprima leads the grand ships’ parade

The AIDAPrima at Hamburg  (Courtesy AIDA Cruises)One of the guests at the Hamburg Cruise Days on Saturday, September 9, 2017, will be an AIDA ship, in the shape of AIDAprima. The 300-meter-long and 37-meter-wide cruise ship will lead the grand Cruise Days Parade on Saturday evening (starting around 9:15 p.m.) and she will also be part of the spectacular Blue Port light show.

AIDA Cruises greets Hanse Sail 2017 with two AIDA ships

For the fourth time in a row, AIDA Cruises has agreed to sponsor a ship for one of these major public attractions of one of Germany’s biggest maritime festivals. Thanks to the support of the cruise company based in Rostock, the venerable Russian vessel “Kruzenshtern” will be a guest at the 27th Hanse Sail from August 10–13, 2017.

AIDA Mountain Bike and Racing Bike Weeks

During the 2017/2018 winter season, cyclists will be in for a real treat with AIDA. AIDAperla will be staging a Mountain Bike and a Racing Bike Week in September. In November, everything will revolve around two-wheelers in the Canary Islands with AIDAprima, while in December AIDAdiva will be offering a bike training camp during her Caribbean cruise.
