Flam extended season shows results

Flåm, southwestern Norway - AurlandsfjordAs the cruise season closed in Flam, figures were released showing that 257,988 passengers visited on 153 calls, 7,027 more than in 2017. Jon Olav Stedje, manager port operations Port of Flam, commented on the record-breaking season: “The main reason for this is the extension of the season”. (more…)

IJmuiden benefits from its position: 500m sailing from the open sea and just 45 minutes by coach into Amsterdam

IJmuiden is quietly going about its business and the results are plain to see. This year 34 calls brought the total since 2012 to 400. First timers are much in evidence. Costa is turning around for the first time next year (Costa Pacifica). Norwegian Cruise Line is calling for the first time with four calls from Norwegian Spirit. (more…)

Dover celebrates its 2018 summer season and plans Western Docks revival

In June Dover Cruise hosted 11 calls including a double call when Saga Sapphire and Saga Pearl II berthed together early in the month. Port of Dover head of cruise, Sonia Limbrick, said: “June has been another successful month at Dover Cruise and I would like to thank all of the cruiselines that visited us this month for their continued support.” (more…)

Zeebrugge Opens New Terminal

Skagen, Denmark, expects 100% rise in passengers

This year 42 cruiseships carrying up to 68,500 passengers are going to call at Skagen. This is 100% up on 2017, when 33,000 passengers on 31 calls visited Skagen. Out of the 42, 11 will be first calls from ships within Princess Cruises and Viking Ocean Cruises, both brands being quite new to Skagen. (more…)
