Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has hosted its first dedicated travel trade conference in over a decade, at The Belfry Hotel & Resort in Sutton Coldfield, near Birmingham. The aim of the ‘Closer 2018’ Trade Conference was to provide the trade with a more detailed understanding of Fred. Olsen, its product, mission, unique selling points, and to give a general update on developments within the cruise line.

Fred. Olsen to commence 2018/19 cruise seasons from Newcastle and Liverpool

Olsen Cruise Lines will be commencing its 2018/19 cruise seasons from the ports of Newcastle and Liverpool on Thursday 26th April 2018. 1,350-guest flagship Balmoral will be setting sail from Newcastle on a seven-night ‘German Cities & the Kiel Canal’ cruise, and 804-guest Black Watch will be departing from Liverpool on an eight-night ‘Fjords, Mountains & Glaciers’ itinerary around Norway.

‘Fred. Olsen’s ‘Brabant’ commences inaugural ‘European River Cruising’ programme’

The 156-guest river cruise boat BrabantFred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ new 156-guest river ship, Brabant, has today [Thursday 5th April 2018] commenced its inaugural cruise season from Amsterdam, on a five-night ‘Springtime Dutch Discovery’ itinerary, calling at Amsterdam, Hoorn, Kampen, Deventer, Arnhem and Nijmegen in the Netherlands, and ending in Dűsseldorf, Germany.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines to celebrate 170th anniversary in 2018 with ‘Captains in Cádiz’ event, reuniting the fleet once again

On 10th September 2018, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ fleet of four ships – Balmoral, Braemar, Boudicca and Black Watch – will be reuniting once again in one of Europe’s most historic cities, Cádiz in Spain, for a spectacular event to mark the 170th anniversary of Fred. Olsen’s beginnings in the shipping industry.

GAC UK wins Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines agency business

Balmoral - Fred. Olsen Cruise LinesFred Olsen Cruise Lines has appointed GAC UK as its agent in Newcastle and Liverpool. Under the deal, GAC will manage 18 calls during 2018 for the 804-guest cruise ship Black Watch at its home port of Liverpool, and a further 16 for the 1,350-guest Balmoral, at its home port of Newcastle.

Following on from the success of its ‘Four Ships in Bergen’ event in Summer 2015, and with it exciting ‘Captains in Cádiz’ celebration on the horizon on 10th September 2018, Fred.
