The cruise season expected to be colourful and extremely busy at Helsinki

The estimates are high: nearly 300 ships and as many as 540,000 passengers are expected in the city. This will naturally mean plenty of curious and excited groups of foreign tourists visiting shops, sights, markets places and events.

The Port of Helsinki takes the top spot among European passenger ports

Passenger numbers continued to increase on the Helsinki-Tallinn route in particular, reflecting the development of Helsinki and Tallinn into ‘twin cities’ with close economic and social ties.

Record-breaking Number of Cruise Passengers in Helsinki




Helsinki, the South Harbour (Courtesy Port of Helsinki Ltd - Mikael Kaplar, Studio Point, 2015)The number of international cruise ship passengers rose to an all-time record this year totalling 478,000 foreign passengers. In 2016, the number was 409,000, while the previous record was 436,500 in 2015.

Helsinki to welcome 270 cruise ships this summer

St. Peter Line to operate five-city Baltic cruise route – new terminal in Helsinki




The passenger ferry operator St. Peter Line and the City of Helsinki have successfully increased cooperation. St. Peter Line will carry cargo, move to a new terminal in central Helsinki and put in traffic the Princess Anastasia ferry every Friday in Helsinki in a creation of a new Five City Baltic Cruise Route connecting the Northern Baltic Capitals.
