Port NOLA Sets Cruise Passenger Record

Carnival Sunshine, formerly known as the Carnival Destiny at New OrleansThe Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) set a new record in 2018 with 1,182,111 cruise passenger movements, up 2.3 percent compared to a year ago. A 23 percent surge in guests taking Mississippi River cruises helped buoy the total, with new and larger ships set to sail from New Orleans both in the Caribbean and on the River in 2019. (more…)

Norwegian Breakaway Debuts In New Orleans

Norwegian Breakaway at New OrleansOn Sunday, November 11, 2018, Norwegian Cruise Line returns to New Orleans introducing Norwegian Breakaway to the Big Easy with five to 11-day cruises to the Caribbean. At 1,068 feet and 145,655 gross register tons, the recently renovated Norwegian Breakaway is the largest cruise ship to homeport in the city of New Orleans, as well as the youngest in port this season.
