Cruise ship (Star Pride) arrives in Manhattan after power failure

The Star Pride, which had 351 people on board, stranded Friday in Buzzards Bay between Woods Hole and Martha’s Vineyard. Windstar Cruises, who operates Star Pride, said the ship experienced a loss of cooling water for the engine systems, causing automatic shutdown of the traction and auxiliary engines. Carnival Cruise Ship Cleared for Sailing After Hitting Dock in New York City



While docking in New York City this morning, Carnival Cruise Line’s newest ship, Carnival Horizon, struck the west end of Manhattan Terminal’s Pier 90. New York City is now offering three fully functioning buildings at Manhattan Cruise Terminal as Pier 92 is poised to once again become a regular berth option for ships calling in New York.
